FOCUS ON PAST EVENTS

Over the last few months, NENU2PHAR partners have participated and represented the project in different conferences and events over Europe. These participations contribute to two objectives of the project which are raising the general public awareness to the issues of bio-based plastics and sharing the project’s results.

FOIRE DE CHALONS

Bioeconomy For Change attended the Fair in Chalons-en-Champagne in the Région Grand Est in September 2022 with the aim of raising general public awareness about the challenges of bioeconomy. The team presented the Nenu2PHAr project to French citizens with different bio-based samples as well as a dedicated flyer explaining the context and the objectives of the project. This was the perfect occasion to target a different public than scientific conferences and raise awareness on bio-based plastics and PHA as an alternative to conventional products.

Many thanks again to B4C !

SCIENCE FAIR

The coordinator of the project CEA was present at the Fête de la Science in Aix en Provence in the South of France in October 2022. The goal of this annual French event is to raise general public awareness on the scientific field and the various existing professions. The demonstration stand for Nenu2PHARr’s samples of bioplastics was very popular, as were the microscope observations with more than 2500 visitors during the weekend. Several interventions were also made in schools where pupils were able to discover the project and the profession of scientist.

Many thanks again to CEA Tech and particularly Alexandre Six and Maureen Saint-Sorny

ALL4PACK EMBALLAGE PARIS

NENU2PHAR was represented in November 2022 by IPC (Industrial technical centre for plastics and composites) at the ALL4PACK Emballage in Paris. This event specialised in packaging manufacturing processes, packaging and logistics was the opportunity to present samples from the NENU2PHAR project on their booth and demonstrate the market potential of PHA-based products.

Many thanks to IPC and particularly Arnaud Littner and Samira El Bir

EUROPEAN BIOPLASTICS CONFERENCE

ITENE represented the NENU2PHAR project at the European Bioplastics Conference in December 2022 in Berlin. They presented through a dedicated poster the latest innovations in PHA-based materials for food packaging applications such as thermoformed trays or plastic cups, and the results regarding adding of nanofillers and thermoforming of #PHA materials.

Many thanks to ITENE and particularly Hendrik Roch, María José Jiménez Pardo and Amparo Verdú Solís

ALGA EUROPE

To finish 2022, our coordinator CEA participated in the Alga Europe Conference in December 2022. This conference organised by EABA, the European Algae Biomass Association saw a record breaking number of participants compared to the last face-to-face event in 2019 with 430 people registered. Jean-François Sassi has given a talk on recent advances in the production of #biotechnological processes on #microalgae as well as two posters presentations.

Many thanks to CEA and particularly Jean-Francois Sassi, Alexandre Six and Sophie Fon Sing
