Bio-Mi is an SME manufacturer, R&D oriented enterprise from Croatia based on the synergy between 20 years of industrial manufacturing experience in the field of plastic processing and the R&D team with strong experience in EU funded projects. Bio-Mi is dedicated to the development and the production of biobased, biodegradable, and compostable thermoplastic materials and compounds as well as flexible film products made of its own certified materials used for the production of primary and secondary packaging applications, agro applications etc.
The advanced engineering of new bio-based and sustainable plastic materials and solutions are in the focus of Bio-Mi R&D activities making it the first company in East and Southeast Europe that produces and manufactures bio-based, biodegradable and compostable thermoplastics with TUV certificates, offering different end-of-life options for each material or product. In addition to the certified compounds, Bio-Mi is providing tailor-made solutions for various post-process technologies such as blow and cast extrusion, blow moulding, injection moulding and others. Bio-Mi´s production process is fully aligned with bioeconomy and circular economy goals.
Apart from developing new bio-based building blocks and materials, Bio-Mi provides services of advising and awareness raising in the field of tailoring and transformation of bio-based plastics and other advanced materials into final products.
Bio-Mi is a member of several national and international organisations such as BIC (Bio-Based Industries Consortium), Horizon 2020 expert groups for Societal Challenges 2 and 5 and others.
